Taking a chance on love

Taking a chance on love is a nice song to listen to but I think it has a better fit for slow dancing. When listening to the song I can imagine how people back in the day would slow dance with their significant other to it. One of the things I find interesting with the song is that the start of the song with the instruments by themselves, it sounds like the same rhythm that she sings in a little bit later. I thought it was a nice touch to add and after listening to it the second time and noticing that by the third time I was thinking the lyrics in tune with the instruments. I can relate to the lyrics a little bit because she repeats “here I go again” and one of the parts says, “taking a chance on love”. I can relate to this because finding one isn’t easy and it takes a lot of tries to find that person. I think that the part that says “taking a slide again” is either meaning dumping the person or going through the breakup. But later in the song, it talks about how “I’m taking the game up and the ace of hearts is high” When I heard that I was thinking she was meaning she thought she found the one and was really putting her heart out there. Then the song continues to repeat that part of “taking a chance on love” Which I take as even though you might get married to someone you always have your heart out for them so you’re always “taking a chance on love” because they could break it at any point with a divorce or treating you badly.

  1. I too did this song for one of my blog posts. Honestly I love the way you put things. I myself mostly focused on the instrumentals when I did my blog post. I really liked how you went in depth on the lyrics, trying to find the meaning behind them and how you relate to them. It is really cool to read someone elses blog to see another perspective other than your own.

  2. I did the same song as you. Yeah I agree it does take some time until you find the right one. Yes I think it would be wonderful to dance with your significant other. Yeah you always have to take a chance you can not just go half in you have to go all the way in
